Timothy Treadwell, a wildlife activist, spent 13 summers living with bears in Alaska. Traedwell was found dead and partly consumed at his campsite in Katmai National Park in autumn 2003. Amie Huguenard, Treadwell’s girlfriend, was also found dead.

Treadwell was a reformed drug addict. When Treadwell lived among grizzly bears, he treated them like pets. Treadwell though he was accepted as one of them. Katmai Park Rangers killed the male bear thought responsible for Treadwell’s death. The adult male was 1000 pounds (450 kg) A younger bear was also shot dead when it showed aggressive behavior.

The Timothy Treadwell death video is elusive. There are many fakes from posters who capitalize on the popularity of the search for the video. Jewel Palovak, one of Treadwell’s close friends, has possession of his personal effects and the audio tape of Treadwell’s final moments before his death. Jewel Palovak said she has no plans of releasing the audio tape. Treadwell had bequeathed his belongings to her.

Diprivan Propofol

Michael Jackson’s nutritionist is now coming out and saying that the King of Pop desperately sought a sedative called Diprivan.

Nurse/Nutritionist Cherilyn Lee has had the fortune of treating Michael Jackson as a patient tells the media that during the final days Whacko Jacko was adamant about receiving a powerful intravenous sedative called Diprivan or Propofol.

But not only this, the story gets even more interesting here. Just three or four days before Michael Jackson passed away, one of Michael Jackson’s assistant placed a desperate call to Lee, telling the nurse that Jackson was extremely ill.

‘One side of my body is hot, it’s hot, and one side of my body is cold,’ ” Lee overheard Jackson saying in the background.

An O.D of the sedative like Diprivan can force a person to stop breathing, which can lead up to the deadly buildup of carbon dioxide in the body. This build of CO2 can lead to erratic heartbeat and cardiac arrest.

Michael Jackson did not go to the hospital on June 21st when Lee was called, however he was rushed to UCLA Medical Center on June 25th after falling unconscious in his Los Angeles home and not responding to CPR.

Yemen Airline Crash

A Yemeni jet crashed while making an approach at Hahaya Airport in Comoros’ capital, Moroni - see map below. After an aborted landing, the plane made a U turn before crashing into the Indian Ocean. The Airbus A310-300 carried 153 people and was on the last leg of a flight that originated in Paris and Marseille enroute to the island nation of Comoros.(Yemen Airline Crash)

According to airline officials, sixty-six passengers were French nationals and the remainder of passengers were believed to be Comoros citizens returning home.

A search plane discovered the debris field and miraculously, a child was recovered among the floating bodies of deceased passengers in the choppy waters of the crash site. The youngster, age 5, was taken to an area hospital and appears to be the sole survivor.

According to Yemeni civil aviation deputy chief Mohammad Abdul Qader, the weather was very bad in the area with 40 mile an hour winds at the time the plane was attempting to land.

It is the second carsh involving an Airbus jet in a month. An Air France Airbus A330 crashed off Brazil with 228 passengers on board - all presumed dead. The all important black boxes were not recovered, leaving investigators to speculate on what brought the aircraft down.

Farrah Fawcett Funeral

Farrah Fawcett Funeral:A private funeral for actress Farrah Fawcett will be held at the Catholic cathedral of Los Angeles next Tuesday, church officials said on Friday.

The service for the former "Charlie's Angels" actress will take place at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels at 4 p.m. PDT (1900 EDT).

Fawcett, 62, died on Thursday after suffering a long and public battle with anal cancer.

Michael jackson Autopsy leaked

Reports that Michael Jackson’s autopsy results have been leaked are false, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office.

Ed Winter, assistant chief coroner, said details reported in the UK Sun about Jackson’s condition did not come from either of the two autopsies performed on the King of Pop.

“I don’t know where that information came from, or who that information came from. It is not accurate. Some of it is totally false,” Winters told reporters.

After an inconclusive autopsy was carried out on Jackson by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office, the family requested a second autopsy by a private pathologist. Toxicology tests are expected to take several weeks.

According to The Sun, Jackson was a “virtual skeleton” with only pills in his stomach at the time he died.

His hips, thighs and shoulders were riddled with needle wounds — believed to be the result of injections of narcotic painkillers, given three times a day for years.

And a mass of surgery scars were thought to be the legacy of at least 13 cosmetic operations.

The examination showed the 5ft 10in star — once famed for his on-stage athleticism — had:

PLUNGED to a “severely emaciated” 8st 1oz. It is understood anorexic Jackson had been eating just one meagre meal a day.

Pathologists found his stomach empty aside from partially-dissolved pills he took before the painkiller injection which stopped his heart. Samples were sent for toxicology tests.

LOST virtually all his hair. The pop pin-up was wearing a wig when he died and pathologists said little more than “peach fuzz” covered his scalp.

A scarred section of skin above his left ear was entirely bald — apparently the result of a 1984 accident when his hair caught fire as he filmed an ad for Pepsi.

SUFFERED several broken ribs as frantic rescuers pumped his chest after he collapsed in cardiac arrest. Four injection sites were found above or near to Jacko’s heart.

All appeared to result from attempts to pump adrenaline directly into the organ in a failed bit to restart it.

Three of the injections had penetrated the heart wall — causing damage — but a fourth missed and hit one of the 50-year-old star’s ribs.

The autopsy also found unexplained BRUISING on Jackson’s knees and on the fronts of both shins. And there were CUTS on his back, indicating a recent fall.

The King of Pop’s once handsome face bore a network of plastic surgery scars, while the bridge to his nose had vanished and its right side had partially collapsed.

US Supreme Court Opinions

THE U.S. Supreme Court ruling in favor of a 13-year-old girl strip-searched by school officials appropriately thwarts officials who might overreach in the name of enforcing zero-tolerance drug policies.

Justice David Souter wrote for the majority and offered one cogent point after another about the need for boundaries in enforcing school policies.

Authorities at the Arizona middle school would have been justified in their 2003 search had they confined it to the girl's backpack and outer clothing. But when they searched her undergarments, exposing her breasts and pelvic area to some degree, the search went from reasonable and legal to an "embarrassing, frightening and humiliating search." Souter said.

Savana Redding, now a 19-year-old college student, was suspected of having prescription-strength drugs, which are banned in school without prior permission. The search was a breathtaking example of overreach. The suspected contraband was not illegal drugs or powerful ones that might have compelled heavier measures in the interest of student safety.

The court's ruling was nearly unanimous, with Justice Clarence Thomas the sole dissenter.

A larger argument within the context of the case drew a more mixed reaction from the court and promises to remain a focus of debate in education circles. The majority opinion protected the assistant principal who ordered the search from liability, noting that "parents are known to overreact to protect their children from danger, and a school official with responsibility for safety may tend to do the same."

Justices John Paul Stevens and Ruth Bader Ginsburg disagreed. Ginsburg pointed out correctly that the assistant principal committed humiliating actions, including making Redding sit in a chair outside his office for more than two hours and failing to call her parents.

That doesn't sound like action taken in the interest of student safety.

Leeway ought to be given to school officials to enforce zero-tolerance policies for drugs and violence. But it is not tying their hands to ask authorities to respect a student's basic rights

Mays, 50, was found unresponsive by his wife inside his Tampa, Fla., home at 7:45 a.m. on Sunday, according to the Tampa Police Department.

Police said there were no signs of forced entry to Mays' residence and foul play is not suspected. Authorities said an autopsy should be complete by Monday afternoon.

"Although Billy lived a public life, we don't anticipate making any public statements over the next couple of days. Our family asks that you respect our privacy during these difficult times," Mays wife, Deborah, said in a statement on Sunday.

Mays was well known for his numerous television promotions of such products as Orange Glo and OxiClean. He was also featured on the reality TV show "Pitchmen" on the Discovery Channel, which followed Mays and Anthony Sullivan in their marketing jobs.

Born William Mays in McKees Rocks, Pa., on July 20, 1958, Mays developed his style demonstrating knives, mops and other "as seen on TV" gadgets on Atlantic City's boardwalk. For years he worked as a hired gun on the state fair and home show circuits, attracting crowds with his booming voice and genial manner.

After meeting Orange Glo International founder Max Appel at a home show in Pittsburgh in the mid-1990s, Mays was recruited to demonstrate the environmentally friendly line of cleaning products on the St. Petersburg-based Home Shopping Network.

Commercials and informercials followed, anchored by the high-energy Mays showing how it's done while tossing out kitschy phrases like, "Long live your laundry!"

Mays was on board a US Airways flight that blew out its front tires as it landed at a Tampa airport on Saturday, MyFOX.

US Airways spokesman Jim Olson said that none of the 138 passengers and five crew members were injured in the incident, but several passengers reported having bumps and bruises, according to the station.

Authorities have not said whether Mays' death was related to the incident.

Discovery Channel spokeswoman Elizabeth Hillman released a statement Sunday extending sympathy to the Mays family.

"Everyone that knows him was aware of his larger-than-life personality, generosity and warmth," Hillman's statement said. "Billy was a pioneer in his field and helped many people fulfill their dreams. He will be greatly missed as a loyal and compassionate friend.

What in sam-hell is going on?

First: Ed McMahon, a fixture on U.S. late-night television for 30 years as the full-throated announcer and sidekick for Johnny Carson on NBC's "The Tonight Show," died on Tuesday at age 86, his spokesman said. Read more about it here. Read more about it here.

Second: Actress Farrah Fawcett, the "Charlie's Angels" television star whose big smile and feathered blond mane made her one of the reigning sex symbols of the 1970s, died on Thursday after a long battle with cancer. She was 62. Read more about it

Billy Mays dead

pitchman Billy Mays was found dead today in his home in Tampa, Florida early this morning.

According to the Tampa PD, the 50-year-old TV pitchman was found unresponsive by his wife Deborah at 7:45 AM.

TMZ has learned Mays' body has already been removed from his home.

Mays had just returned from Philadelphia, where he shot a new OxiClean commercial. He was a passenger aboard a plane that suffered a blown front tire upon landing. He told a local TV station, "All of a sudden as we hit you know it was just the hardest hit, all the things from the ceiling started dropping. It hit me on the head, but I got a hard head."

We're told Mays was at his home around 6:00 PM last night, and according to a source Mays was "acting fine and normal ... he was talking business with his father-in-law."

According to cops, there are no signs of forced entry to the residence and no foul play is suspected.

The Medical Examiner's office is expected to complete the autopsy by tomorrow afternoon.

Big Country Bash

Another in the summer music festival schedule this year is The Big Country Bash. It has been an annual event in Des Moines for several years running now, and showcases some of the up and coming acts in country music. I have never personally attended the Big Country Bash as I am not really much of a country fan.

I do like some Brad Paisley, and Keith Urban, but those guys are off headlining their own shows during the summer months and seldom play a festival show such as this. Much like the SummerJam, and Lazerfest, even though I likely won’t attend, I certainly appreciate the additional options offered by different entities in the area. I’m sure that The Big Country Bash will be a success this year as it has in past years, and there are plenty of fans that will pack Water Works Park. It is a day long event, as with the previously mentioned festivals, that has eight different acts performing. The lineup includes: Jason Brown, the Iowa native and budding country star, Love and Theft, Emerson Drive, Eli Young Band, Gloriana, Bucky Covington, John Michael Montgomery, and Tracy Lawrence.

I truly can’t pretend to have much of an opinion on any of these acts as I have never seen any of theJason Brownm and don’t recall hearing any of their songs. I’m sure I have heard some due to my wife’s enjoyment of country, but have no opinion personally. I don’t want to turn this into a why I don’t like country article, because that is not the point. And, fact is there is some I do like as I mentioned previously. I’m going to try to discuss a few of the acts just to give any fringe fans on what to expect. If you are a big country fan, I can probably assume that you know all about this, and are probably planning to attend already.

I’ll try to touch on the little bit I know, starting with Iowa’s own Jason Brown. Jason is originally from Pella, Iowa and has put out two recordings on the “Dream It Records” label, and has really started to make a name for himself, around Iowa, and the whole country music scene. He has performed in support of such acts as Rascal Flatts, Taylor Swift, and current Dancing With the Stars participant Chuck Wicks. He produces a modern country style, and has a great voice to go along with his message. Good luck to Jason, and hopefully he’ll be headlining the Big Country Bash in a couple years.

Bucky Covington was first seen on American Idol back in 2006. He only finished eighth, but signed a record deal a few months later. He consistently performed with a country and southern rock flair, that while perfect for the right audience wasn’t going to carry him to the American Idol title. I actually do remember him performing Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynyrd and was surprised at the amount of talent he had. Since then, he his debut album, Bucky Covington, reached number one on the U.S. Country charts and his follow up is set for release on September 8th, 2009. I’m sure that if you attend the Big Country Bash you will hear not only his past singles, but more than a couple of the new songs you’ll be hearing on the new record.

Tracy LawrenceThis year’s headliner is country music veteran Tracy Lawrence. His first record was released back in 1991 and he has released nine studio albums, with one more on the way soon. Tracy’s style is much more of a traditional country approach, he has much more twang, and steel guitar than most of the newer country acts. He has sensitive ballads, tongue in cheek redneck references, and songs of loving the country life. All the stuff country music is best known for. Don’t expect any groundbreaking material, but I’m sure that it will sound nice, and his fans will love it.

One of the smartest things about the Big Country Bash, as well as SummerJam, is that they are taking place at the same venue, on back to back days. The organizers are sister radio stations, and it makes so much sense to hold these events in such a manner. With the economic situation, and everyone making cutbacks, it is a great way to save on expenses. That, in turn helps keep the ticket prices manageable. This year’s Big Country Bash tickets are $27.50, for all the day’s acts. Of course if you wait until the day of the show they will jump to $45. Don’t forget to account for the food and beverages that you will need, especially if you are going to be there for the whole nine or ten hour event. They do also have the VIP tickets, as with SummerJam for those with a little more discretionary income. The same amenities apply, exclusive viewing area, some food and drink tickets, exclusive lounge area, and private restrooms.

The disadvantage to this format could be weather. If the area stays dry, there shouldn’t be any issues, but if there is moderate to heavy rainfall it could be a mess. If the rain hits on Saturday, during SummerJam, it could only make it worse. The large amount of people, grassy areas, and probable muddy conditions could make for a difficult experience. Let’s all hope for sun, low winds, and fair temperatures, that will ensure two days of music and fun for local fans of classic rock, and country music.

Adrian Cronauer

Cronauer began his broadcasting career at the age of 12, as a guest for a Pittsburgh-area children's amateur hour.[3] He attended the University of Pittsburgh, where he helped found the forerunner of the university's college radio station WPTS.

Military service

Cronauer co-authored the original story for the film Good Morning, Vietnam, which was based on his experiences in the Vietnam War, where he served from 1965-1966.[4] His program was known as the "Dawn Buster". A subsequent special program on National Public Radio about the role of the American Forces Vietnam Network (military radio and television) earned Cronauer a 1992 Ohio State Award and two 1991 Gold Medals from the New York Radio Festival.

Personal life

Cronauer earned a masters degree in Media Studies from the New School for Social Research in New York City and a Doctor of Law degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Cronauer's law practice concentrated in information and communications law. He was also the head of an advertising agency. Later in life he worked as a special assistant to the Director of the Defense Prisoner of War/Missing Personnel Office.

Honduras President

TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras — More than a dozen soldiers arrested President Manuel Zelaya and disarmed his security guards after surrounding his residence before dawn Sunday, his private secretary said. Protesters called it a coup and flocked to the presidential palace as local news media reported that Zelaya was sent into exile.

The chief executive was detained shortly before voting was to begin on a constitutional referendum the president had insisted on holding even though the Supreme Court ruled it illegal and everyone from the military to Congress and members of his own party opposed it.

Zelaya was taken into military custody at his house outside the capital, Tegucigalpa, and whisked away to an air force base on the outskirts of the city, his private secretary, Carlos Enrique Reina told The Associated Press.

Tanks rolled through the streets and Army trucks carrying hundreds of soldiers equipped with metal riot shields surrounded the presidential palace in the capital's center. About 100 Zelaya supporters, many wearing "Yes," T-shirts for the referendum, blocked the main street outside the gates to the palace, throwing rocks and insults at soldiers and shouting "Traitors! Traitors!"

It was not immediately clear who was running the government. Soldiers appeared to be in control, but the constitution mandates that the head of Congress is next in line to the presidency, followed by the chief justice of the Supreme Court.

Neither military nor presidential officials have said who's in charge.

Honduras has a history of military coups: Soldiers overthrew elected presidents in 1963 and again in 1972. The military did not turn the government over to civilians until 1981, under U.S. pressure.

"We're talking about a coup d'etat," labor leader and Zelaya ally Rafael Alegria told Honduran radio Cadena de Noticias. "This is regrettable.

Maegan was raised in Centreville, Virginia from the age of two, and completed the first three years of her college education at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. At GMU Maegan was a member of many clubs and organizations, including Alpha Omicron Pi, an all women's fraternity focused on philanthropy and community service. Michael Jackson was on a deadly cocktail of drugs

London: The toxicology report in pop star Michael Jackson is still awaited but the sources close to the pop star`s entourage have revealed the singer was on a deadly diet of powerful narcotic pain relievers.

The star was injected three-times a day with narcotic Demerol. He was also taking three 3mg tablets of another strong narcotic painkiller, Dilaudid and was recently prescribed Vicodin, an opiate drug derived from codeine, the Sun online reported.

The 50-year-old star died yesterday of a suspected cardiac arrest. However, the cause of his death will only be determined after the toxicology report, which is expected in
four to six weeks.
The other medicines that the singer was reportedly taking are, Soma, a muscle relaxant in 2mg doses twice a day, Xanax, a sedative taken in 0.5mg doses twice a day, Zoloft, an
anti-depressant was taken in 100mg doses.

Another anti-depressant Paxil was also taken by the star to treat anxiety and obsessive behaviour. Michael took it in 20mg pills and Prilosec, an over-the-counter pill for
heartburn, the newspaper reported citing sources from Jackson`s entourage.

The singer was recently prescribed anti-biotics to fight of infection following his skin cancer surgery. Earlier reports had also suggested that Jackson had started eating one meal a day as he had a phobia about gaining weight before his 50-date comeback concerts in London from July 13.

He had told a physician that he had been taking painkillers regularly since 1985 and had used them to counter the effects of more than a dozen cosmetic surgery operation, the newspaper said.

Jackson`s painkiller addiction began in 1984 after he suffered burns while singing for a Pepsi-Cola commercial, when the special effects smoke bomb misfired. He had to have major surgery on his scalp, and it is said that because of the intense pain he developed an addiction to painkillers.

The popstar`s dosage increased over the years as he struggled to cope with the decline of his pop career, his mounting debt and his legal battles against child abuse allegations.

"I was in Utah for the Sundance Film Festival. I was at the airport and the limo driver told me about his 12-year-old daughter, who wanted to be a singer and had a beautiful voice. However, her classmates were teasing her about her body and telling her she was never going to make it,” the Daily Express quoted her as saying.

She added: "She saw me perform on TV and I inspired her to sing again. She saw me and my appearance and my success and the great job I did. This was a 12-year-old kid whose dream had been halted by negative comments, but she saw me deliver a knock-out performance and it made her believe she could become successful too."

Now, Latifah is hoping to inspire youngsters to learn to love their looks.

I just mean that people aren't going to buy this fight on pay-per-view because they think Lashley and Sapp are legitimately good fighters. (In fact, the fighters in the co-main event, Pedro Rizzo and Gilbert Yvel, would both beat either Lashley or Sapp.) No, people are going to buy this fight because Lashley and Sapp are big, tough-looking guys who have reputations as brawlers. That's the kind of fight that has always sold in Japan, but hasn't been as popular among American MMA fans.

I personally think Sapp, whose pro MMA record is 10-4-1, is probably going to run out of steam early in the fight, and Lashley, whose record is 3-0, will finish him in the second round of a fight that won't really be all that exciting. We do not mind that the Brits took our precious 5 foot 5 inch bundle of joy and put her on Court Six in the last singles match of the day. Not one bit! In fact, thank you! What a delight! What a perfect end to a spectacular day of American tennis. Wow!

Our little fireplug, our never-say-die Justine Henin emulator, Miss Melanie Oudin (oo-dan) did it again. On the main draw, it will say that Melanie Oudin, our new teenage superstar from Georgia, defeated Kasakhstan’s 21-year old Yaraslova Shvedova in three hard-fought, endless sets 3-6, 6-2, 6-4.
Over there on Court Six it was nail-biting time. Remember this little Southern sugarplum has to play her way in to the main draw. Melanie is already in her second week. Two weeks of pounding the grass, diving for balls, chasing everything down and winning. That’s right, that’s the best part, winning. After her three qualifying wins, she has now racked up 2 main draw wins at the oldest tournament in the world. She is the youngest player still standing. That’s our Melanie. And, we are not letting go of her, not for one second. Frankly, we would like all you media types to leave her alone. We know what you are up to. We don’t blame you. She is after all, our Horatio Alger, our Silky Sullivan, our very special dream-come-true. We’ve been patient. We have waited, and waited and waited. And, now she has arrived.

Of course, we told you she would. You may recall that before this event began, before you knew her name was pronounced oo-dan, we picked her to surprise at Wimbledon. We are darn proud of it, too. We will not let you forget. We have not had anything like this in a long time. Melanie is a very good tennis player. One day, she will be a great champion. But, what she is most of all, is hope. Earlier this years, U.S. team captain Mary Joe Fernandez needed help for her U.S. Federation Cup team. She wanted a young player. In the U.S. there are only two players in the top ten under the age of 20. Fernandez selected Oudin, who jumped at the chance to represent her country. With the U.S. trailing 1-2, she faced Argentina’s savvy veteran Betina Jozami who blew Melanie away in set one. Melanie had a quick talk with herself.

“I kept telling myself after that first set that this time this was just another match, another match against another girl. The less I thought about the circumstances, the better I played.” Melanie came out blazing. She blasted Jozami off the court 6-1, 6-2 in the final sets to claim the match. Fernandez liked what she saw. “That kind of determination is good to see from a young player.”
