Big Ten Network, With time almost up to work out a deal for the 2009 season, Service Electric Broadband Cable in Wilkes-Barre has come to an agreement to carry the Big Ten Network.

Service Electric general manager Larry Shewack said Wednesday that “Expanded Basic” subscribers will get the channel in time for Penn State’s season opener against Akron, which the Big Ten Network will carry at noon on Saturday.
The Big Ten Network will appear on channel 38. Country Music Television will be moved to channel 73.
Penn State’s first three games of the season – Akron (Sept. 5), Syracuse (Sept. 12) and Temple (Sept. 19) – will all air on the Big Ten Network.
As many as six of Penn State 12 regular-season contests could air on the Big Ten Network. Penn State and BTN officials have listed Illinois (Oct. 3), Eastern Illinois (Oct. 10) and Indiana (Nov. 14) as other possibilities.
