Jasmine Lynn, a Spelman College sophomore was shot and killed early this morning on the campus of Clark-Atlanta University. An unidentified Clark-Atlanta student was wounded during the shooting. According to Atlanta Police, Ms. Lynn, who hails from Kansas City, Mo., was shot after gunfire broke out during a fight in the 200 block of James P. Brawley Drive. She was walking with a group of friends back to the Spelman campus when they passed by the fight.

According to police, Jasmine Lynn from Kansas City, Missouri was shot and killed after gunfire broke out during a fight at Clark-Atlanta College.


The 20-something-year-old student and a group of friends were walking back to Spelman campus when she was shot, her friends said.

Lt. Keith Meadows of the Atlanta Police Department said, “One of the friends actually heard the gunshots, actually saw the weapon and told her to get on the ground. Before she was able to get on the ground she was struck in the chest by a stray round.”

Authorities said a bullet also hit an 18-year-old Clark-Atlanta student in the wrist.

Two people were arrested at the scene.
