Richard Seymour
Richard Seymour, About twenty minutes ago on Twitter, Mike Reiss of the Boston Globe announced that the New England Patriots were going to be trading defensive lineman Richard Seymour to the Oakland Raiders. A few minutes later, Adam Schefter of ESPN tweeted that the Patriots have indeed traded Seymour to the Raiders for a first round pick in the 2011 Draft.
The Patriots themselves, via Twitter of course, have confirmed that Seymour was traded to the Raiders.
Richard Seymour was drafted by the Patriots in the first round (sixth overall) in the 2001 NFL Draft out of Georgia and has been a part of three Super Bowl Teams. He was named to the Pro Bowl five times in his career (2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006).
In 101 career games with the Pats, Seymour had 357 tackles, 39 sacks and two interceptions.
