US Open Tennis 2009 Results

US Open Tennis 2009 Results: US Open Tennis 2009 is now its third round and I am looking at what the men’s semifinals results look like. Of course, the top players will still be there unless they find themselves stumbling in the quarterfinals. Roger will be with his inspired self and Murray will be as hungry as ever. Rafa might still be hurt but he will force himself to regain his once lofty standing. Roddick just lost to Isner in a five set thriller and Djokovic may battle Verdasco in the quarterfinals.

Roger Federer vs Novak Djokovic

There will be no repeat of their Wimbledon duel with Andy Roddick, as the latter just lost in the second round. Twas probably Andy’s worst in years. Djokovic, on the other hand, came out victorious in the second round. He is to face Stepanek next. I am not sure of his recent forms, but I have not really heard of any significant victories for the Serb lately.

Roger Federer is aiming for his 6th US Open crown and 16th Grand Slam title overall. This is the most for any men player, already beating the record of Pete Sampras. He already had the French Open and Wimbledon in 2009. And who do I cheer for? Of course, Federer will still prevail over Novak Djokovic in the semifinals. I predict it will be over in just four sets.

Andy Murray vs Rafael Nadal

Rafael Nadal slipped from No.1 to No.3 because of his inactivity since his withdrawal from Wimbledon. Is he fit enough to play at the highest level?

Andy Murray, on the other hand, is enjoying victories one after another, except for any of the grand slam. But he’s close. And consistency at the slam is what he needs right now. I predict that he’ll win against Nadal for the reason that Rafa is still not 100%.
