Steven Sheffield,Sheffield Texas Tech: Texas Tech win over Michigan State with a lead of 41-31 in the Alamo Bowl tonight in San Antonio, with the performance of Steven Sheffield who led the game-winning drive after coming off the bench.
Sheffield, backup quarterback, was 6-for-6 for 75 yards and a touchdown on his first drive of the game late in the fourth quarter.
The Spartans got the ball back with 4:56 remaining in the game, but on the second play of the drive, Kirk Cousins was intercepted by Franklin Mitchem. The Red Raiders were able to run out the clock after converting on a pair of fourth downs.
Kirk Cousins was 13-for-27 for 220 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions. Edwin Baker had 12 carries for 102 yards. Blair White had six grabs for 114 yards and a score and Keshawn Martin had four catches for 86 yards.
