BISE unveils names of Matric exam toppers

LAHORE – The boy and girl candidates each bagged the top three positions in the Annual Matriculation (Secondary School Certificate) Examination 2012 as the Lahore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) unveiled the names of toppers on Tuesday.

The names of position-holders were announced by BISE Lahore Chairman Nasar Ullah Virk during a press conference at Children Library Complex. BISE Controller Anwer Farooq and other officials of the board were also present on the occasion. The results will be announced on Wednesday (today) at 10:00am at Alhamra, The Mall. PML-N MNA Hamza Shahbaz will preside over the ceremony.

According to the list of toppers, the first position was grabbed by Muhammad Sarmad Waqar, a student of Beaconhouse School for Boys Canal Side Campus, Lahore (roll number 79737); and Nashka Zulfiqar, a student of Fauji Foundation Model High School for Girls, Sangla Hill District, Nankana (roll number 9010). Both of them scored 1021 marks out of a total of 1050.

The second position was taken by Arslan Tariq, a student of Government Central Model School, Lower Mall, Lahore (roll number 89520), who got 1020 marks; while the third position was bagged by Sadaf Sarfraz, a student of Crescent Model Higher Secondary School for Girls, Shadman, Lahore (roll number 12479) who got 1019 marks.BISE Lahore 9th Class Result 2012

In Science Group (Boys), Muhammad Sarmad Waqar got first position with 1021 marks; Arslan Tariq got second position with 1020 marks; and Muhammad Talha Riaz, a student of Crescent Model Higher Secondary School for Boys, got third position with 1018 marks.

In Science Group (Girls), Nashka Zulfiqar got first position with 1021 marks; Sadaf Sarfraz got second position with 1019 marks; and Khaula Tariq, a student of Divisional Public Higher Secondary School for Girls, Model Town, Lahore, got third position with 1018 marks.

In Humanities Group (Boys), Muhammad Aaqib Naseer and Hafiz Muhammad Usama Iqbal of Allama Iqbal Public Boys High School, Raiwind Road, Kasur, got first and second positions with 978 and 966 marks, respectively; while Hafiz Adeel Ashraf, a private student from Kasur, got third position with 956 marks.

In Humanities Group (Girls), Ayesha Aslam of Government Model Girls High School, Okara, got first position with 970 marks; Aamina Siddique of Farooqi Girls High School, Karim Park, Ravi Road, got second position with 964 marks; and Arooj Nasir of City District Government Girls High School, Multan Road, got third position with 960 marks.

While addressing the press conference, Nasar Ullah Virk said no result was delayed this year due to the hard work of BISE officials. He said as per the instructions of the Judicial Commission, which probed into the matter of messed up results last year, and the Punjab government, the result was first prepared electronically and later rechecked manually.
