NEW DELHI: Chris Gayle (75) slammed maiden IPL fifty to help Kolkata Knight Riders post 155/3 against Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League encounter at Brabourne stadium, Mumbai on Monday.
Chris Gayle hit seven fours and two sixes in his 60 balls inning. Gayle completed his maiden fifty in 47 balls.
After Ganguly’s departure, Gayle put on another solid partnership of 82 runs for the second wicket with Owais Shah (31) to help Knight Riders post 156-run target for Mumbai Indians.
Owais Shah slammed three fours to score a 23-ball 31 for the Knight Riders.
Skipper Sourav Ganguly (31) was first to go for Knight Riders after he put up a solid 70-run opening partnership with Chris Gayle.
Ganguly hit five fours in his 34-ball knock before being clean bowled by former international teammate Harbhajan Singh in the 11th over.
Ganguly started his innings with a bang as he hit medium pacer Ryan McLaren for three consecutive fours in the third over of the match.
