Rutgers Football,Rutgers Football Schedule:1. CHRIS FONTI WAYNE HILLS, 6-7, 305
The tackle, who played center for the basketball team, employs his good footwork to keep defensive linemen from invading the backfield. Committed to Rutgers, Fonti opened seams for runners Brian Dowling, Ronnie Driesse and Tom DiBianca last season and protected quarterback Mike Quinn as Wayne Hills averaged 39.5 points and finished undefeated.

2. DAN FOOSE PARAMUS CATHOLIC, 6-6, 310
This tackle-—powerful, tough and possessing the footwork of a guard–is rated the No. 1 lineman in New Jersey and No. 52 nationally at his position by Rivals.com. He is sifting through about a dozen firm offers to arrange his official visits this fall. Foose will be challenged in his first two games against Pascack Valley of Hillsdale and St. Joseph of Montvale. He has offers from Boston College, Illinois, Rutgers, Louisville, Stanford and at least six other schools.

3. BRANDON SACCO DON BOSCO PREP, 6-3, 255
The versatile Sacco will likely line up at center or guard at Pittsburgh, though he has the footwork and technique to handle all three positions right now if that were necessary. He gave his verbal in June, as did Don Bosco teammate Bryan Murphy, a defensive lineman. Don Bosco’s running game will be very solid this season with Sacco’s assistance.

4. ADAM SKIDMORE CENTRAL REGIONAL, 6-6, 260
He was a solid blocker last season for a team that did not get much attention in struggling to a 4-6 record. The return of Skidmore and other seniors has the Bayville school hoping to reach the .500 mark and the state playoffs. He is also a valuable contributor on the defensive line. Committed to Tulane.

5. BRANDON VITABILE BISHOP AHR, 6-3, 300
Vitabile had a very solid season at both center and defensive tackle last fall for Bishop Ahr (9-2) of Edison, then wowed scouts even further with his strength and durability in off-season workouts. Bishop Ahr coach Ron Hilliard constantly raves about Vitabile’s mix of intelligence, intensity and his level of commitment to his craft. He is rated the No. 8 center in the nation by Rivals.com. Committed to Northwestern.

Others to consider: Bill Bilo, Timber Creek; Christian Bollin, Middlesex; Betim Bujari, Secacus; Jake Kaufman, St. Peter’s Prep; Jorge Vicioso, Passaic.
