University Of Florida Football: Urban Meyer Leaving: Florida head coach Urban Meyer announced his resignation on Saturday citing his health as the reason. Meyer was hospitalized for dehydration and chest pains following the SEC Championship Game and first thought is that could have something to do with whatever is wrong. At the moment, not much else is known (although some sources are stating Meyer has a heart problem) except that the Sugar Bowl will be his last game coaching the Gators. It is being said he will remain involved with the Florida football program. Meyer will hold a press conference tomorrow to publicly announce his resignation.

I think I speak for all Florida fans in saying I hope everything is okay and Meyer and his family are in my thoughts.
With him suffering continuous chest pain, he needs to take a break and take rest from the continuous physical activities that he has been involved for years without taking breaks.
Florida Gators have flourished under his watchful eyes.
He is among the top coaches in the country today and his record for bringing improvement in teams he has got involved with speaks volumes.
His overall record as a head coach through the end of the 2008 season is 83–17, and he is 41–13 in conference play.
His winning percentage (.830) ranks second nationally among active college coaches.
Urban Meyer says it’s time to concentrate on his health and his family. I think he should take a break and then make a comeback.
